Common Questions

Can I claim benefits from two categories?

If you are SC and also PwD, you get both benefits stacked. Your age relaxation would be +5 (SC) + 10 (PwD) = +15 years total. EWS cannot be claimed by anyone already in SC, ST, or OBC.

Does OBC Creamy Layer get any benefits?

No. If your family income is above ₹8 lakh per year, you are Creamy Layer and must apply as General. You get no reservation, no age relaxation, and no fee waiver.

Does EWS get the same benefits as OBC?

No. This is a very common mistake. EWS only gives you 10% seat reservation. There is no age relaxation and no fee waiver for EWS — unlike OBC which at least gets +3 years age relaxation.

Are these benefits the same in state exams?

Not always. State PSC exams often have different — sometimes better — age relaxation and reservation percentages. What you see here covers central government exams only.
